M.C.A.T. Major Case Assistance Team


Members of the Criminalistics Unit conduct investigations on all major crimes. They also conduct follow-up investigations on all referred crimes. Crime scenes are processed for latent evidence. Evidence is collected, processed and stored.
The unit’s goals include the detection, apprehension and prosecution of persons suspected of committing criminal offenses and the recovery of stolen property


The Criminalistics Unit interacts with many outside law enforcement agencies including the FBI, Secret Service, ATF, DEA, and Customs. Members of the Criminalistics Unit participate regularly with the Major Case Assistance Team dealing with serious crimes in the area.
