Request for Public Records
The Village has five (5) business days, after its receipt, to respond to your FOIA request, as stated in Section 3(d) of the Act (5 ILCS 140/3(d)). Pursuant to Section 3(e) of the Act (5 ILCS 140/3(e)), the time period for the Village to respond to a FOIA request may be extended for an additional five (5) business days.
Please be advised that effective January 1, 2010, when the reproduced and/or copied material responsive to a FOIA request exceeds fifty (50) pages of black and white, letter or legal size paper, the Village may charge $0.15 per page of reproduced and/or copied material for each page in excess of fifty (50) pages. Such charges are reasonably calculated to reimburse the Village for its actual costs for reproducing and/or certifying public records and for the use, by any person, of the equipment of the Village to copy records. 5 ILCS 140/6(b). Actual cost will be charged for other documents not of standard size and/or for the recording medium (examples: thumb drive, CD, DVD, etc.)
